New Year Toast

Once more, we come to the close of another year.  Whether this has been a good/bad/ambivalent year, it’s always beneficial to take some time to reflect over what has passed and what lessons we should carry with us into the next phase of our lives.  Naturally I feel the best way to do this is with Tarot, so today I am going to share with you three spreads I have created especially for you to get some insight into your year.  So before the champagne flows, take some quiet time to shuffle your cards…

Spread - New Year - Wheel
The Wheel of the Year

Ok, this one is by far the most complicated spread I’ve ever shared with you, as it requires no less than 17 cards.  Because of this, it was a bit tricky to lay out using my usual playing card method, so it will require a little explanation: the outside cards (Diamonds) are in the same pattern as the numbers of a clock – lay these out first.  The inner five cards (Spades) are to be dealt once the ‘clock’ is complete.  With me so far?  Let’s go!

Diamonds

These cards represent lessons, or the overall theme, of each month.

1.  January

2.  February

3.  March

4.  April

5.  May

6.  June

7.  July

7.  August

8.  September

9.  October

10.  November

12.  December

Spades

1.  You throughout the year.

2.  Lessons for Spring.

3.  Lessons for Summer.

4.  Lessons for Autumn.

5.  Lessons for Winter.
