This month’s full moon is Monday 22nd July, 2013
We all of us have goals, dreams and ambitions – or even just an aspect of our lives we want to change. If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you know that I recommend setting intentions at the new moon and offering gratitude when the moon is full.
However, today I’m going to share with you something a little different, inspired by the path the moon makes on water…
So you’ve searched your soul and you’ve set your intentions, and maybe when the moon is full you feel your heart fill with gratitude for the blessings you already have. But what next? If there’s one thing I’ve learned from New Year’s resolutions, it’s that deciding to change is easy, but acting on the decision is a little trickier. What should the step after the decision be, and the step after that?
I’ve created the following spread to help you to check up on your progress so far and to give you some pointers as to what you need to do next to keep moving towards that goal.
The Path The Moon Makes On Water Spread
To begin, consciously choose a card to represent your goal: this will be ‘the moon’ in your spread, and the other cards will create the path that leads you towards it.
- ‘The Moon’ / your goal;
- You now;
- The weaknesses that are holding you back;
- The strengths you have to overcome your weaknesses;
- Obstacles you’re facing;
- How to overcome those obstacles;
- Your guiding light.
Don’t give up! If you want something badly enough, move heaven and earth to get it. If you’re listless, unmotivated or blue, perhaps the time has come for you to explore what you want and your reasons for wanting it.
“Something that worked for me was imagining that where I wanted to be [...] was a mountain. A distant mountain. My goal. And I knew that as long as I kept walking towards the mountain I would be all right. And when I truly was not sure what to do, I could stop, and think about whether it was taking me towards or away from the mountain.”
